The Remakers

What we call Remaking.

As a joint initiative of umdasch Store Makers Construction and formwerk, we develop integrated transformation solutions for sophisticated existing properties.

A network of experts, visionaries and makers work together on innovative, holistic approaches to the sustainable revitalisation of properties. We transform office buildings into senior living flats and shopping centres into mixed-use properties - from existing properties to sustainable, high-yield uses.

Reducing resource consumption, minimising CO₂ emissions and soil sealing: instead of sealing new areas, we preserve and optimise existing structures – a significant contribution to greater sustainability in construction. This results in properties that are both ecologically and economically sustainable.

Social and economic change is transforming how we use spaces: working environments are becoming more hybrid, retail is becoming more experience-oriented, and living space is becoming scarcer. We create solutions that preserve the character of the building while integrating contemporary functions.

The future lies in existing buildings

Refurbishment

Refurbishment focusses on the targeted renewal of existing components and technical systems. Selective measures are used to improve functionality, efficiency and quality without interfering with the basic structure of the building. This allows investment volumes to be optimised, operating times to be shortened and the value of existing properties to be sustainably secured.

Revitalisation

Revitalisation goes beyond mere renovation. Utilisation, design and technical infrastructure are rethought in order to adapt properties to changing market and user requirements. The aim is to increase attractiveness, quality of stay and economic efficiency - while at the same time preserving the character of the building.

Transformation

Transformation describes the far-reaching further development of properties. Existing structures are remodelled for new usage concepts such as office-to-living or retail-to-mixed-use. This creates future-proof spaces that fulfil regulatory, economic and social requirements and create long-term prospects for the existing building stock.
