Team consolidation as a driver for change

The Remakers is a concept solution from umdasch Store Makers Construction GmbH & formwerk GmbH. A shared vision - namely that in the future more than 50 % of construction will be in existing buildings - became a partnership. A network of experts, visionaries and doers now stands behind it, all of whom have made it their mission to create holistic approaches to the sustainable revitalisation of real estate.

What we call Remaking.

The construction industry is at a turning point. Around 40% of CO₂ emissions today come from the building sector. At the same time, there is increasing pressure to use space in a more resource-efficient and sustainable manner. The answer is to transform existing buildings instead of constructing new ones.

Revitalisation

This is about more than just refurbishment: we create new utilisation options and give buildings a fresh appeal. Revitalisation involves breathing new life into derelict or outdated properties — whether through alternative room concepts, modern materials, or improved energy efficiency.

Transformation

The most consistent form of building work on existing buildings is conversion. This involves reimagining the purpose of a building — for instance, converting an office block into a residential space or a vacant department store into a mixed-use complex.
